What is the BISSELL SpotClean HydroSteam 3700E? A 1000W portable deep cleaner combining steam, 17,000 Pa suction and BISSELL's OXY formula to lift set-in stains from carpets, upholstery, stairs, tile and car interiors. BISSELL states it cleans up to 50% better than non-steam models.
How strong is the suction? 17,000 Pa. For a portable spot cleaner, that's the figure that determines how much dirty water comes back out of the fabric rather than staying in it. Weak extraction is why cheaper spot cleaners leave carpets damp and re-soiling quickly.
What does the steam actually add? Steam softens dried, sticky and oily residue before extraction. On a greasy kitchen spill or a long-set stain, this is the difference between lifting the mark and simply wetting it.
What are the three modes? SteamWash for tough, oily messes. Steam for refreshing upholstery and cleaning grout and tile. Wash for enzyme-based stains such as pet accidents, using solution without steam.
How long until it's ready, and how long to dry? Steam is ready in around 30 seconds. In Steam Only mode, upholstery dries in roughly 25 to 30 minutes — so a sofa can be back in use the same afternoon.
Is it a vacuum cleaner? No. It's a wet spot cleaner. You fill it with water and solution; it sprays, scrubs and extracts the dirty liquid into a separate tank. Vacuum the area first, then treat the stain with this.
How big are the tanks? A 1.9-litre (64 oz) clean water tank with a separate dirty water tank. Both are removable, so filling and emptying is done at the sink rather than over the machine.
How do I stop the hose smelling? Use the included HydroRinse self-cleaning tool to flush the hose after each use. Skipping this is the main cause of odour build-up in portable cleaners.
What surfaces can I use it on? Carpets, upholstery, stairs, car interiors, pet beds, mattresses, and tile and grout using the Multi-Surface Tool. (For mattresses, follow the manufacturer's instructions and allow full drying before use.)
